After six months of waiting, yesterday's end to the NBA lockout
gives the Washington Wizards a seven-day window to re-sign top free
agent Rod Strickland or, gambling on their ability to sign a younger
star after this shortened season, decide to let him go.
Within a week-long signing period that will begin after the
agreement is finalized, the Wizards might offer as much as $11
million a year for four or five years to retain Strickland, according
to a source close to the Wizards. The point guard, who will turn 33
