NRC Wants Sequoyah Cleanup Details

GORE, Okla. (AP) _ The Nuclear Regulatory Commission asked for
details Tuesday about the proposed cleanup of a uranium plant
that's closing, including how much the owners expect to spend and
when the job might be finished.
The NRC ordered Sequoyah Fuels Corp. and its owner, General
Atomics of San Diego, to submit a schedule for decontaminating
and closing its plant in Gore in eastern Oklahoma.
The agency also asked for details about the projected costs
and how the owners plan to pay for the cleanup.
Regulators have said the ground near the plant is laced with
uranium.
