Oil producers are flocking to a meteor crater in Major County, northwest of Ames, dubbed "the Ames Hole," to one of the most prolific oil finds in Oklahoma for many years.

What? You didn't know there was a crater in Oklahoma?

Well, it's buried 9,000 to 9,500 feet underground and the impact is estimated to have occurred 450 million to 500 million years ago, if paleontologists are correct.
