Iraqi Economic Decay Based on Problems, Not Gulf Wars

Since the Persian Gulf War, we've all heard of the economic devastation in Iraq. But the wheels of destruction were already in motion for an economic collapse, asserts a University of Oklahoma economics student in a recent report.

A.F. Alhajji had begun his research on the Iraqi economy far in advance of the war, but his report was not released until September. It reviews the repercussions of historical British occupation and communism in Iraq, as well as the effects of Iraq's war with Iran and the Persian Gulf War.
