STOCK PRICES JUMP 58% FOR SOUTHWESTERN BELL

ST. LOUIS - The stock price of Southwestern Bell Corp. increased
58 percent during 1989, shareholders at the company's annual meeting
in St. Louis were told Friday.
Southwestern Bell's stock price increased 58 percent during
1989, more than twice the year's performance of the Dow Jones and
Standard & Poor's indices, said Edward E. Whitacre Jr., chairman and
chief executive officer.
