PROFITS BY STATE FIRMS DOWN 36% FOR QUARTER
|
A 36-percent drop in third quarter profits to $308.1 million was
reported by Oklahoma's largest publicly-held firms, breaking a
six-quarter string of increases.
Revenues, however, rose 9 percent to $14 million, marking the
10th consecutive quarterly rise. With higher sales shared by 84
percent of the 44 corporations surveyed, the third quarter was the
ninth straight period that majority of firms managed increases.
Only 41 percent of the firms managed higher profits, extending
to 30 the string of consecutive quarters that the majorit of firms
failed to increase their profits. ...
