Six months before General Motors Corp. made public its plans to build
the assembly plant in southeast Oklahoma City, Santa Fe Railroad Co.
officials say they worked behind the scenes with representatives of
the city and manufacturer to coordinate the effort.
Santa Fe, with a to-be-constructed 169-acre railyard known as
the Flynn lead, would serve the plant's transportation needs.
