20% OF RADIO, TV STATIONS ACCEPTING ADS FOR CONDOMS

DALLAS (AP) - Nearly one in five of the nation's radio and television stations are accepting condom advertising, and 67 percent of TV stations say they may do so in the future, a survey reports.

Some TV station owners, however, say they are reluctant to risk offending viewers with the ads and believe news and public programs are a better way to address the AIDS epidemic and teen-age pregnancy. Other stations see such ads as condoning sexual permissiveness.
