D.C. Judge Rejects Challenge to New School Board Charter

A D.C. Superior Court judge dismissed a challenge yesterday to the passage of the new school board charter amendment, a move that solidified the first change to the city's school board in more than 30 years.

Judge John H. Bayly Jr. rejected the claims of a city resident who said the D.C. Council failed to give a second reading of the final version of the School Governance Amendment Act, a legally required step in the legislative process.
