WILLIAMS TO LOBBY FOR BETTER FUNDING FOR HIGHER EDUCATION

Joseph H. Williams, chairman of the board and chief executive officer
of The Williams Companies of Tulsa, told legislative leaders
Wednesday he will lobby for better state funding of higher education
- despite the state's severe financial crisis - because quality
education programs are crucial to attracting well-managedfirms to
Oklahoma.
Williams made that plea during a private luncheon, which he and
Dean McGee, chairman emeritus of Kerr-McGee Inc. of Oklahoma City,
attended Wednesday at the state Capitol. They were invited there to
