Tate Gallery tape is clue in hunt for suitcase killer

By John Sturgis A LIMITED-EDITION roll of adhesive tape produced by the Tate Gallery with artists Gilbert and George could lead police to catch a macabre killer, it emerged today.

Detectives investigating the murder of a woman whose body was hidden in a suitcase and dumped in a ditch released photographs of the unusual tape used to bind and gag her. The tape, produced exclusively for Tate gallery shops, was designed by the two artists, whose work has provoked controversy for more than 30 years. The tape is approximately two inches wide and bears a pattern of men's faces on a blue background.
