London business chiefs field own poll candidates

LONDON'S business leaders, angry and frustrated with both the main political parties over lack of action to improve the capital's chronic transport problems, are to field their own candidates in the General Election in protest.

They say that London's transport system is failing "on every front" and that politicians have consistently failed to do anything about it.

In a snub to Labour and Tory parties, London First- the business consortium led by Lord Sheppard - is to put up at least three candidates standing under the Get London Moving party banner.
