AMERICAN businessmen are planning to transform the Millennium Dome into a huge rock concert hall seating 70,000 people.

The US consortium, which includes the management companies of singer Michael Jackson and magician David Copperfield, has put together a 135million bid for the Dome. It is said to have the backing of a major American adventure capitalist, according to merchant bank Lazards, which was appointed by the Government to oversee the sale.
