WELCOME! Welcome, Welcome!" There are five Greek cameramen waiting
outside Lesbos airport when we arrive. "Welcome, ladies! Welcome."
They are obviously trying to contradict the notion that lesbian
parties aren't welcome on this island of Lesbos - Lesvos to the
locals - a feeling indicated by the fact that only three days ago,
the Mayor was trying to have them legally prevented from being there.
"Do you mean that? Do you mean welcome?" says Jane. "If you do
mean it, then thank you. We're very glad to be here. And look at us,
we're hardly dangerous."
There are only 26 members of the Candy Bar ...
