'Lavender Hill Mob' get 26 years
|
A GANG of master forgers nicknamed The Lavender Hill Mob were
jailed for a total of 26 years today.
Led by an outwardly respectable businessman and an underworld
crook, the five-strong gang masterminded Britain's most successful
counterfeiting ring.
They produced 50mil-lion worth of fake currency and their 20 notes
were so realistic that 30million worth passed through the banking
system. Many are still in circulation.
