IF YOU don't know much about the six Russian artists, all women,
whose work can be seen at the Royal Academy, except that one of them
once wrote an essay called Today's Fashion is the Worker's Overall,
you probably won't want to know much more. Be reassured, however.
This revolutionary tract is much more interesting than it sounds and
it's also the work of perhaps the most remarkable of this
extraordinary bunch of women.
Her name was Varvara Stepanova, and she was not just a painter and
