An experimental aircraft once destined for a museum now holds the promise of new technology for future fleet aircraft at Patuxent River Naval Air Station.

Several hundred employees turned out for the recent welcoming ceremony at a Naval Strike Aircraft Test Squadron hangar for the arrival of the X-31 Vector, which was carried to Pax River aboard an Air Force Reserve C-5 Galaxy cargo plane.
