LILIAN BAYLIS, legendary purveyor of Shakespeare, opera and ballet
to the poor at prices they could afford, must be turning in her
grave.
Her hallowed Old Vic stage is being given over next month to a
card sharp and a small onstage audience who are being asked to pay up
to GBP 75 for the privilege of watching him.
