THE BRITISH group Icebreaker is 12 years old - a good age for such
an ensemble - but has never really established a firm position in
this country's musical life. It was founded by John Godfrey and James
Poke to play Dutch minimalism; subsequent links were developed with
the New York-based Bang on a Can festival, while a British repertoire
