Robert Trent Jones Sr., one of the preeminent golf course architects in the world who created or redesigned about 500 courses in 40 states and 35 countries, died June 14 at his home in Florida. He was 93.

Mr. Jones's touches can be seen at some of the most famous golfing venues, among them Augusta National, site of the annual Masters tournament, where he was credited with turning the 11th and 16th holes from indifferent to bold. He often was referred to as Trent Jones to avoid confusion with the founder of Augusta National, Robert Tyre "Bobby" Jones.
