Across the street from the White House stands Blair House, the
president's guest house for kings, prime ministers and other world
dignitaries, all as magnificently served as though they were in their
own castles.
The Chronicler was delighted last week to attend the Friends of
Blair House's spring tea party celebrating the original families who
lived in the adjacent Blair and Lee houses for more than 100 years.
According to Gail Serfaty, the State Department's reception rooms
director, there were 150 or so guests at the tea, including 50 Blair
and Lee relatives.
