Catholic `princes' jockey solemnly for the succession

ONE HUNDRED and fifty five "princes of the church" gathered
solemnly in the red velvet chamber of the Apostolic Palace yesterday
to discuss (out loud) the future of the Catholic Church and (sotto
voce) the succession to the throne of Saint Peter.
Cardinals from around the world are grappling with globalisation,
