Film of Sutton Hoo treasure ship excavation revealed after 62 years

A LOST film showing archaeologists unearthing the secrets of
Sutton Hoo, Britain's richest Anglo-Saxon burial ground, has been
rediscovered after more than 60 years of obscurity.
It shows the amazed excavation team painstakingly recording the
details of the ship where one of England's earliest kings was buried
amid treasures that came from as far afield as Byzantium.
The burial mound is thought to be that of Raedwald, a King of East
Anglia who died in the early seventh century. Gold and silver
treasures in the remains of the Sutton Hoo ship near Woodbridge,
Suffolk, were the richest ...
