Travel: Anger of the town that disappeared from the map Dartford's residents want an apology from Kent council, writes Robin Barton

WHAT DOES Kent County Council have against Dartford? The town may
not the county's most scenic spot, and its most famous landmark, the
Dartford Tunnel under the Thames, doesn't rank high on a list of
local tourist attractions. But Dartford has been mysteriously omitted
from all the maps in a new Guide to Kent leaflet, produced by the
Council, and replaced with an enigmatic green space.
"It was a genuine mistake," said Phil Scrivener of Kent County
Council. "The guide is the first stage of a big promotional push for
Kent, and we very much wanted them to be part of it, but they didn't
