IT IS traditional in Britain that a man flies in from another land
at Yuletide and is never forgotten by those he visits. It is not for
giving, however, that Francois Doumen is known. It is for taking the
King George VI Chase, a race the French trainer will attempt to
secure for the fifth time in the last 14 years when First Gold lines
