OBITUARY: John Bunyan
|
JOHN BUNYAN was possibly the most gifted dental surgeon of his
generation. He was an outstanding and innovative dentist with a
private practice in Harley Street for almost 40 years.
As a young boy in America, he stood up to correct the US Senator
Robert Taft, who was a guest speaker at his school, on a point of
information. Alistair Cooke reported on the incident in his Letter
from America and described the boy as "Mr Valiant-for-Truth". It was
an apt description for the descendant of the author of Pilgrim's
Progress.
