IN THE past I've been guilty of overlooking Alsace. For, as with burgundy, the finest wines from this picturesque, north-eastern French frontier region aren't found in supermarkets or the high street; it takes time and energy to track down the best. Then I went there and was so knocked out by the number and quality of the many deliciously mouth-watering wines that I have resolved to overcome inertia.
