Parliament - Europe: Heath condemns `Tory jingoism' over euro entry

SIR EDWARD Heath warned William Hague yesterday that he would lose the next election, and attacked the Tory leader for "sheer jingoism" over his policy of ruling out British entry to the euro for five years.

"There are those who think that by pushing to the right as far as the Tories are concerned we can win the election. This is just not possible and will never happen. It is only by getting back the middle ground we can win the election and gain power again," he said.
