THE TRAJECTORY of shares in Tarsus, the trade magazines and
exhibitions business, over the last year is likely to set the heart
of even the most hardened internet investor quivering. The shares
have leapt from 57p to close yesterday at 577.5p, an all-time high.
Speculation the group will go dot.com has driven the performance
but, until yesterday, there was precious little genuine internet
appeal in evidence. Tarsus is now acquiring Martex Communicators for
pounds 25m, a competitor to Tarsus which differentiates itself by
