The colt Chief J Strongbow, a longshot named after a legendary
professional wrestler, left the competition in racing's version of a
sleeper hold in winning the Horatius Stakes yesterday at Laurel Park.
Trainer Lynda Knee also saddled Chief J Strongbow's mother,
Redding Ridge, during the mare's racing career, which began in the
late 1980s and included a handful of stakes wins.
