"You don't often see a composer taking a bow at a Folger Consort
program," said one fan of that early music ensemble, which
specializes in composers who have been dead for at least three or
four centuries. But at last night's "Hail, Millennium!" concert,
which will be repeated tonight at the Washington National Cathedral,
Mark Kuss and James Primosch both took bows. The program, an exercise
in what we might call chronological crossover, matched ancient and
modern styles, and the Folger Consort was assisted by members of the
cutting-edge-modern 20th Century Consort, the University of Maryland ...
