To many car dealers and people who dreamed of owning a luxury car, the name Paul Dawes conjures up nothing but horror.

The flamboyant trader, who was known as Fat Man to reflect his 28- stone frame, tricked hundreds of people into believing he could get them the cars of their dreams.

His offers were too-good-to-be-true, offering thousands of pounds' discounts on top cars, including a pounds 40,000 Mercedes for just pounds 30,000.
