Robby Gordon bumped his way to his first victory, knocking series champion Jeff Gordon aside for a controversial win today in the New Hampshire 300.
The clash of the Gordons, who are not related, began with 16 laps to go in the season finale at New Hampshire International Speedway, a race rescheduled after the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks.
Jeff Gordon, who wrapped up his fourth Winston Cup championship last week, was leading when he appeared to slow his Chevrolet to avoid running into the lapped car of Mike Wallace. Robby Gordon rammed him from behind, turning Jeff's car sideways…
