Huffing, puffing, big and bearded, William Morris was
indefatigable until he burnt himself out, all of a sudden, at the
age of 62. The great Victorian designer, champion of the Arts &
Crafts movement, and the force that has driven the presses that
have printed hundreds of thousands of rolls of fruity wallpaper for
tens of thousands of suburban homes, died, said his physician, of
"being simply William Morris, and having done more work than most
