Yahweh Ben Yahweh -- the white-robed religious leader who was convicted of ordering his disciples to "kill for Yahweh" in 14 violent Miami area murders -- will walk away from a federal prison early next week. But he will not be allowed, as he had hoped, to resume the leadership of his controversial group, the Nation of Yahweh.

Yahweh, 65, had wanted to reestablish contact with the group, which was launched in Miami in 1979 and once claimed 10,000 members, when he is paroled after serving more than 10 years on conspiracy charges. He had sought an injunction against the U.S. Parole Commission, ...
