Anglo-French Summit: Britain eyes new pact with Paris
|
Britain and France are expected to announce new areas of
military co-operation when John Major meets Francois Mitterrand at
the annual Anglo-French summit in Chartres today.
The areas of agreement between the top brass of the two
governments - nuclear doctrine, a joint air-command, peace-keeping
training, and development of a new frigate - will carry added
significance following the withdrawal of the United States from the
Nato task force monitoring the arms embargo on Bosnia.
