The economy is faltering, stocks are falling and the Reston
Community Center is, well, so flush with money it doesn't know what
to do with it all.
The center's income -- from a special real estate levy -- has
risen from $2.8 million in 1998 to nearly $5 million annually because
of fast-rising property values on new office buildings and homes near
Reston Town Center.
Some of the new money is committed to new or expanded programs.

Pine community center construction under way
