The economy is faltering, stocks are falling and the Reston Community Center is, well, so flush with money it doesn't know what to do with it all.

The center's income -- from a special real estate levy -- has risen from $2.8 million in 1998 to nearly $5 million annually because of fast-rising property values on new office buildings and homes near Reston Town Center.
