It's easy to spot an Andreas Gursky photograph; most of his classic works are as tall as a policeman and wide as a barn door. His subject matter also tends to be easily recognisable: it's the modern urban world of labour and play, of capitalist endeavour and multitudinous groups of people or things digitally stretched or enhanced until they form beautiful mosaics or geometrical figures.
