Daisy family gains distinction in guide

The daisy family (Asteraceae) is the world's largest flowering plant family. Nevertheless, until now there has been no guide to daisies, says John Sutton, author of The Plantfinder's Guide to Daisies (Timber Press; $34.95).

"Given the almost universal popularity of the daisy, which is perceived as a symbol of flowers in general, this is surprising," he writes in the book's preface.
