Reign: 21 years, from 51 to 30 B.C.
Parents: Ptolemy XII Auletes ("flute player") was Cleopatra's
father; her mother probably was Auletes' sister, Cleopatra V. Her
grandmother was a concubine of uncertain identity, prompting
speculation about racial ancestry. But "Nobody will ever be able to
determine" whether she had any Egyptian, Nubian or other blood, said
the Field Museum's David Foster.
