Role player, role model Bulls' Ruffin becomes a strong father figure

Four-year-old Deionte doesn't know the man he's calling "Daddy"
isn't legally his father yet.
But Michael Ruffin doesn't mind. The second-year Bulls center and
his wife, Mistye, aren't waiting for an official declaration to
provide Deionte with a father figure and stable home environment.
While some NBA players fill headlines with paternity suits,
domestic abuse and generally reckless parenting, the Ruffins provide
a wrinkle in the stereotype.
Instead of shying away from responsibility, the 23-year-olds are
pursuing their most important challenge with maturity beyond their
years.
