Conenose bugs have painful bite

Q. I found a conenose bug in my house and am worried about the trypanosome it can spread in its bite. What should we do?

A. Conenose bugs are from half an inch to one inch in length and are generally dark brown in color with yellowish-red lateral markings on the abdomen. They have conical heads and straight beaks that are hidden under the body when not in use. Some species are black.

The trypanosome you mentioned is Trypanosoma cruzi, the causal agent of Chagas' Disease in humans...
