Judge lets passengers sue American pilots Travelers can sue union in state court
|
American Airlines' pilots union can be sued in state court by
passengers whose travel was disrupted by a 1999 work stoppage that
forced the carrier to cancel about 6,600 flights, a federal judge
ruled in Texas.
The ruling could lead to similar lawsuits for passengers who faced
travel cancellations this summer when pilots for UAL Corp.'s United
Airlines refused overtime work, leading to thousands of canceled
flights.
