BERLIN As busy as Daniel Barenboim seems to be in Chicago_moving in a perpetual whirlwind as music director of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, as well as conductor, accompanist, piano recitalist and coach to the Civic Orchestra_Chicagoans often forget that they don't get to see another side of his musical life: his work as a conductor of opera.
