Alaska Airlines jet forced to turn around

RENO, Nev. An Alaska Airlines MD-83 jetliner returned to Reno's
airport shortly after takeoff when the pilot reported problems with
the horizontal stabilizer. It was the third stabilizer problem
involving that jet model within a week.
The Seattle-bound jet's problems Saturday night were similar to
those discussed by pilots in the tense minutes before Alaska Airlines
