Helms: Say you're sorry Stalls nomination for Moseley-Braun

WASHINGTON Sen. Jesse Helms said he will block former Sen. Carol
Moseley-Braun's nomination as ambassador to New Zealand unless she
apologizes for defeating him in a 1993 fight over the Confederate
flag.
Helms' demand for Moseley-Braun to renounce her most memorable
floor speech and legislative victory came in an interview in today's
edition of the newspaper Roll Call.
"At a very minimum, she has got to apologize for the display that
she provoked over a little symbol for a wonderful group of little old
ladies," said Helms (R-N.C.), chairman of the Senate Foreign
Relations Committee.
