Performing Wednesday at Martyrs, Geoff Muldaur was in the wrong
space at the wrong time. Making his first local appearance in many
moons, the gifted folk-blues singer should have been presented at a
venue where he and his strong local ties could be properly
appreciated. The new Chicago Folk Center would have been ideal.
Instead, arriving without benefit of advance word, Muldaur
performed solo before about a dozen spread-out souls. But neither
the meager turnout nor the spectator who got his goat by talking
