Campaign starts on equal pay act

In 1997, the AFL-CIO asked working women what they cared about
most, and equal pay topped the list.
Now, says Karen Nussbaum, head of the AFL-CIO's Working Women's
Department, the labor group wants to do something to close the pay
gap between men and women.
Nussbaum, who will speak at the Illinois AFL-CIO's Working
Women's Conference in Springfield today, will discuss a new campaign
for equal pay, including legislation introduced this year in the
legislatures of Illinois ...
