It was a time of flamboyance and hedonism, of bisexual chic and open
drug use. It was a scene caught in a hazy zone between innocence and
decadence. It was when a segment of rock 'n' rollers was moving away
from scruffy "reality" (T-shirts, jeans, a blues basis) and toward
something a little sexier and sleazier, something more evocative and
provocative. It was a sound tinged with cabaret and show-music
