Truffles are flying high this year, a lofty accomplishment for
the gourmet fungus found under the base of oak trees in Europe.
At trendy Chicago restaurants such as Aubriot and Coco Pazzo,
customers are happily extending the dinner tab for a mere shaving or
two. At specialty stores, young food lovers are more frequently
seeking them, a precious ounce at a time.
"I like the nuttiness of them, the indescribable taste of them,"
